Doc Oc This fantastical animatronic Doctor Octopus installation stands 7 ½ feet tall with three 8 foot pneumatic arms and one passive support arm. Using a combination of pneumatics, electronics and mechanics the arms, claws and head are operated through a Mediamation show controller. A preprogrammed 20 minute loop run two of the arms as well as the head. This incorporates: - claws opening and closing - 120 degree arm rotation with 3 LED’s - Rotation of the head. The lower right arm is controlled by the visitor through a joystick attached to a podium. This allows for audience participation and interaction with the animatronic. When connected to the Internet, “Doc Ock” can be monitored through webcams as well as reprogrammed and monitored off site.
