Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I’ve never been measured by you, can you make a harness without my measurements?
A: No problem. While having Walter measure each customer is ideal it’s not always possible. In these cases we have you send us your height and weight and we cross referencing that with our database of operator measurements to get the right size for you.

To assist in the process please email us a photo of you (in comfortable clothes) from the front and the side so we get a sense of your body type.

It’s also helpful if you try and measure yourself. Instructions here

Q: What if I buy your harness and then gain/lose a lot of weight?
A: Klassen harnesses today are made with more adjustability than ever before and can accommodate most weight fluctuations.

Our measurements are also based on your hip bone distance which doesn’t change like your waistline does when you gain/lose a few pounds/kilos.

Generally our rule of thumb is that you can gain or lose about 15-20lbs (6-9 kg) each way and still fit the same harness. We’ll also send you additional thicker and thinner foam which you can use to pad or make room in your harness for an optimal fit.

Q: What is the difference between a Universal and a Traditional Deluxe harness and which one is right for me?
A: The Traditional Deluxe is our top of the line model and takes additional skilled labour and time to do the fine trim tailoring and carbon shell. While the extra tailoring is more of aesthetic decision it also provides additional protection against wear and tear. The Traditional Deluxe also has a slightly thicker carbon shell.

The Universal is a simplified version of the Traditional Deluxe. While they both are made same Klassen quality the Universal has a simplified leather trim and a simpler carbons shell design. However, the Universal has the best price point at $2000US less than the Traditional Deluxe and is a great option for anyone on a budget.

We believe that both harnesses are excellent choices so the decision really depends on your budget and what you want from your harness. If you need further help deciding please call or email Walter.

Q: What kind of warranty do you offer?
A: We offer a comprehensive 5 year warranty on the harness and a 3 month warranty for fit. Please read here for more info

Q: what are my payment options?
A: Generally we ask for 50% to confirm an order and the balance upon delivery. If you need to negotiate a payment plan please let us know up front and we’ll try and accommodate.

Payment can be made by cheque, money order or bank wire transfer. We unfortunately do not accept credit cards.

Q: How long does it take for me to get my harness once I’ve ordered?
A: Delivery time depends on the number of orders we have at any given time as we custom make each harness here in our shop. Generally though we ship your finished harness about 4 weeks from when an order is confirmed.
