Universal System The Universal/Genesis Harness is a stand-alone steadicam harness as well as the backbone of the Universal System. The curved carbon door and carbon shell work together to form a carbon ring around your waist, providing a very stiff, supportive, and comfortable closure. We offer two different types of front closures: the hard hinge, and the double ratchet closure. Metal hinge - provides the greatest stability of all our closures; the hinge has a recessed push-button quick release pin, so the harness can be taken apart and packed with the curved carbon front nested into the harness shell making a smaller package to transport. Double ratchet closure - double ratcheting straps on both sides of the curved carbon front gives you nearly infinite variations in harness fit. The curved carbon front and harness shell can be nested to make a more compact package when traveling. The Universal/Genesis harness is available by itself or with any of our accessories - use it to operate Steadicam, support a handheld camera, or mount a camera to the talent. The modular nature of the Universal System means that you only buy the parts you need. We are pleased to be able to offer the Universal/Genesis with your choice of arm for about the same price as a front mounted Steadicam vest.
